Himalayan Salt Slabs are a valuable addition to any kitchen, offering the ability to retain extreme temperatures. However, to ensure their longevity and performance, care and patience are essential when heating or cooling them.

Allow 24 hours of drying time after exposure to moisture. No soap or detergent is needed, thanks to its natural anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties. For occasional refreshing, simply dab with a squeeze of lemon juice.

● Tempering Your Salt Slab
It's very important to properly season and temper a salt block to prevent cracking and breaking. Do this slowly and carefully before using it for cooking or grilling.
|●●●|  Place the salt slab in a cold oven and gradually increase the temperature by 50-75°F every 20-30 minutes until it reaches 450-550°F.
|●●●|  Turn off the oven and let the block cool slowly to room temperature with the door closed.

● Chilling Your Salt Slab
No preparation is needed; simply place the slab at room temperature in the fridge for several hours until chilled.

● Heating Your Salt Slab
Gas Range: Place the slab over the lowest flame and heat slowly for 15 minutes; increase the heat setting and repeat for another 15 minutes until desired temperature is reached.
Electric Range: Use a ½-inch spacer between the heating element and salt slab to prevent damage. Heat slowly, increasing heat settings every 15-20 minutes until desired temperature is reached.
Grill: Place the salt slab on a cold grill and heat slowly, increasing heat settings every 15-20 minutes until desired temperature is reached.

● Handling and Cleaning Your Salt Slab
- Handle with care, as salt slabs retain heat for several hours after cooking or tempering.
- Allow the salt slab to cool to room temperature before cleaning.
- If food residue becomes stuck, scrape off with a fine bristle brush and rinse quickly in warm water; allow to fully dry.
- No additional cleaning is required, as the salt is antiseptic and antibacterial. Avoid using oil or excessive water, which can deteriorate the salt slab.

● Important Notes
- Salt blocks may develop visible cracks or make popping sounds while heating; this is normal.
- Salt slabs may become pitted or change color with use.
- Salt Slabs can be used repeatedly and can be ground into smaller chunks for use in salt shakers once they deteriorate.
- Himalayan Salt Slabs are a natural product, and each slab is unique in color and inclusions. Chieftain Wild Rice Company is not responsible for damages, injury, or loss due to any use of Himalayan salt products.

● AND LET'S BE REAL...

● Let's face it, you'll barely use the Himalayan salt slab for cooking. It needs to be preheated to the max, or you'll just end up boil boiling your steak instead getting a nice sear. And don't even get me started on the time it takes - it's a total waste. Don't bother buyin this overpriced salt slab for cooking if you're not willing to put in the effort.

●● And let's be real, you'll probably need to finish your steak off with a braai (a metal frame for cooking over a fire) to get any decent flavor out of it.

●●● Oh, and the bottom of a Himalayan salt slab will become discolored and develop a rough texture from being exposed to an open flame. Great, just what you wanted - a salt slab that looks like it's been through a disaster!

●●●● Morons will claim this thing is a useless fad that only works once or twice before falling apart. Honestly, they might have a point - it's not exactly a reliable or durable cooking solution, let's be real.
